Dysphagia Awareness

This Dysphagia Awareness course is designed for care assistants and support workers in Scotland who want to understand swallowing difficulties and how to support people safely and confidently. You will learn what dysphagia is, how to recognise the risks, follow safe eating and drinking plans, use the IDDSI framework, communicate effectively, and respond to emergencies. The course also covers legal and ethical responsibilities, ensuring that the care you provide is safe, respectful, and person-centred.
