Mental Health Act 2007 (England and Wales)

This short course gives you an overview of the Mental Health Act 2007, which applies in England and Wales.

Although this legislation does not apply in Scotland, many services support people across the UK, and it’s important to have a general awareness of different legal frameworks that affect people receiving care.

If you work in Scotland, we strongly encourage you to also complete our Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 course, which covers the legislation relevant to Scottish services in detail.
